YTTW/flexible fireproof metal sheathed inorganic mineral insulated cable

YTTW
YTTW flexible fireproof metal sheathed inorganic mineral insulated cable, designed for safe power supply in harsh environments. Its conductor is composed of multiple stranded copper wires, with excellent conductivity and excellent bending characteristics. The insulating layer adopts an inorganic mineral insulating tape that is resistant to high temperature (1375℃) and does not burn, ensuring excellent electrical insulation and fire resistance. The outer coated copper sheath has good bending after special processing and can be used as a PE wire, enhancing the reliability of ground protection. Under specific requirements, a low-smoke, halogen-free or polyethylene-based outer protective layer can also be added to improve corrosion resistance. This cable has extremely excellent fire resistance. Its fire resistance not only meets the requirements of Class A of 950℃ and 90min in the national standard GB12666.6, but also complies with the A, B, and C standards stipulated in the UK BS6387-1994, and can withstand water spray and mechanical impact during combustion. It has a long continuous length, and both single-core or multi-core cables can reach more than 1000m, reducing contact failures; large cross-section, single-core can reach 630mm² and multi-core can reach 70mm²; it is flexible, with a bending radius of 6-10D, which is convenient for transportation and laying. In addition, it is smoke-free and non-toxic when burning, has a large overload capacity, corrosion resistance and good shielding performance. Widely used in high-rise buildings, subways, hospitals and other places with high requirements for fire safety.

YTTW Flexible Fireproof Metal Sheathed Inorganic Mineral Insulated Cable: Redefining Safety in High-Risk Environments

The YTTW flexible fireproof metal sheathed inorganic mineral insulated cable is a cutting-edge solution designed for extreme safety and reliability in fire-prone or high-temperature applications. Engineered with a unique structure, this cable combines a copper conductor core with inorganic mineral insulation (typically magnesium oxide) and a flexible metal sheath (e.g., copper or stainless steel), creating a fireproof barrier that withstands temperatures up to 1000°C—far exceeding traditional organic-insulated cables.

Key Features and Structural Advantages

  1. Inorganic Mineral Insulation: The mineral core (MgO) is non-combustible, non-toxic, and moisture-resistant, ensuring zero smoke or harmful fume emission during fires. Unlike PVC or XLPE, it does not degrade under heat, maintaining electrical integrity even in flames.
  2. Flexible Metal Sheath: The corrugated copper or stainless-steel outer layer provides mechanical protection against impact, corrosion, and rodents while allowing easy installation in tight spaces—a rarity among rigid fireproof cables.
  3. Continuous Conductivity: The solid copper core ensures low resistance and high current-carrying capacity, ideal for critical circuits like emergency lighting, fire alarms, and industrial control systems.

Applications in High-Stakes Environments

YTTW cables excel in scenarios where fire safety is non-negotiable:

  • Commercial & Public Buildings: Installed in hospitals, airports, and shopping malls for fire-resistant wiring in evacuation systems and critical power supplies.
  • Industrial & Petrochemical Sites: Resists extreme heat, chemicals, and mechanical stress in refineries, steel plants, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Underground & Marine Projects: The waterproof metal sheath makes it suitable for subway tunnels, offshore platforms, and submerged installations.

Compliance and Performance Standards

Meeting international fire safety norms (e.g., IEC 60331, BS 6387), YTTW cables undergo rigorous testing:

  • Fire Resistance: Survives 950°C flames for 3 hours with water spray and mechanical impact.
  • Electrical Stability: Maintains conductivity during and after fire exposure, ensuring emergency systems remain operational.
  • Environmental Safety: Free from halogen and toxic substances, aligning with green building standards.

Why Choose YTTW Over Traditional Fireproof Cables?

  • Flexibility: Unlike rigid mineral-insulated cables (MICCs), YTTW’s corrugated sheath allows bending radii as low as 6D, simplifying installation in complex layouts.
  • Cost-Efficiency: Long lifespan and minimal maintenance reduce total cost of ownership, even in high-demand environments.
  • Future-Proofing: Suitable for emerging high-power applications, including EV charging stations and smart grid systems.

Conclusion

The YTTW flexible fireproof metal sheathed inorganic mineral insulated cable is a game-changer for safety-critical projects. By integrating advanced materials with innovative design, it delivers uncompromised fire resistance, mechanical durability, and installation flexibility. Whether protecting lives in a commercial emergency or ensuring uninterrupted operations in industrial fires, YTTW cables provide the ultimate peace of mind—proving that safety and performance can coexist in the most demanding environments.
